(no subject)

I feel like a badger today--a hibernating badger! I went to sleep around 11.30, got up at 7 to feed the cats, was still sleepy so I went back to bed "just for a little while" and just woke up! I know over the years I've accumulated a sleep deficit that probably looks like the federal government's balance sheets, but I must have made a wee dent in it today.

Sadly, I have a lot of indoor stuff to do today (a mountain of dishes, another mountain of laundry, and an apartment that could really use some cleaning), plus I need to get started learning about possible UK degree programs, but I've also simply *got* to get outside and enjoy the weather today--it looks gorgeous!

I might go out tot he park to hike some more

or I might go biking

First I need a bit of breakfast...though at this point I suppose it should be lunch!

Household questions

Do other people leave their kettle on the stove with water in it when they're not actively boiling water? Or do they empty it, dry it, and put it away?

And...shoot, there was another question I had, but now it's gone...

Oh, I remember!

What sort of condiments do you leave out, as opposed to refrigerating? I have inherited my grandmother's lazy susan, but when I think back to it sitting on her dining room table, I seem to recall it having all sorts of things that I would think would have spoilt if left out, like jam or marmalade. Plus, it's really most useful if three are many people sharing a table, instead of only one. :-(

and, as ever at this holiday season

I went out for my hike (very nice), had dinner with my neighbours (delicious meal!), and watched "Choke" with them (weird, but good), and came back upstairs.

To, apparently a Spoor tradition.

Yes, once again at Passover, the Matzah cat has struck!
