short bike note

Another nice morning ride. The hill on Crestview totally defeated me today. I braked too much coming down off Hillside, and then tried to pedal hard and downshift going up, and I just stalled out. Had to walk up it. *sigh* Good ride though; the usual--2.33 miles, about 16 minutes. I got partway up the Big Hill, but not as far as the driveway of the Neighbors with Dogs. Next time...

I really enjoy having a form or exercise that I look forward to! It's such a nice change. To thank Rupert I really need to clean his chain tonight; it's very gunky, and I think that may be giving me shifting problems (something certainly is!)

Update on the weekend later--it was very nice! :-) First *sigh* work.

While chatting with other Advanced Squad Leader players about the state of the game in Scotland, I was introduced to Inversnecky Cafe which sounds like a smashing little place for a nosh. Its being founded by a misplaced Italian chap makes me think of Comfort & Joy, which chronicles a fierce internecine war over the ice cream trade amidst a family of Italian Scots in Glasgow. :-)
