another bike entry

Rupert and I headed out this morning to enjoy the last of the warm weather, and it is a glorious morning!

Avg. mph 8.9, max. mph 21.8, distance, close to 2.5 miles.

I feel a spreadsheet coming on...

The croci are all withering, but the daffs are out and lovely! And I got a few photos of the corcs, so they're not entirely lost. :-)

post on religion (just links, don't get excited)

[livejournal.com profile] brithistorian posted this link to comic-book heroes' religions, which I thought was amusing.

[livejournal.com profile] pusscat mentioned Sea of Faith in one of her posts, and I Googled it. I thought [livejournal.com profile] john_arundel might find it interesting, and I think [livejournal.com profile] robbysmom would if she were still reading. :-/

dinner!

I really have the nicest friends ever!

[livejournal.com profile] gr_c17 and [livejournal.com profile] john_arundel decided to take me out to dinner for my birthday (technically Saturday, but I'm going to not be around, so they decided to do it tonight). And they invited A. and [livejournal.com profile] redactrice and [livejournal.com profile] shy_kat, which pretty much made the evening complete.

I am dearly fond of all my friends and relations, but these five people are very special to me, and I was really thrilled to be able to spend an evening with all of them. I got nice cards and lovely presents: two bottles of single malt--a Jura and a 12yo Macallen--and a SanDisk m250 MP3 player, preloaded with several CDs. I don't know how premeditated the selection of songs on the player was, but I prefer to think that there's a message there. :-)

Amy, Peter, Chris, Bryan, Melissa: I love you all. :-) Thank you for a lovely evening!
