Tuesdays that seem like Mondays

Well, da grrlz got back safe and sound, around 2 am I think M said. They had a wonderful time, it sounds like, seeing lots of stars and planets at the Kitt Peak Observatory, learning about the flora and fauna at the Desert Museum, and generally eating well, swimming, relaxing, hot-tubbing, and finding nifty jewelry.

I got a boatload of groceries last night and clipped the cats' claws (the downstairs ones, anyway), then had one of the delicious CPK pizzas for dinner with a couple of bottles of Red Hook nut brown ale and stayed up way too late watching episodes of The Vice, Soul Food, and Red Cap. Achy and creaky this morning, I took a short bath after I finished my shower. Phineas came and sat on the edge of the tub and did nose-rubbys with me, dangled his tail in the water, and (when I got out and started draining the tub, jumped into the (cat's) ankle-deep water and luxuriated in the warm foot-bath. This cat is weird :-)

Chessie does that on the rare occasions when I take a bath. And back when the water drained very slow he would go in the tub to play with the water - I'm not sure he was luxuriating in the foot-bath, but he dealt with it because he had bubble and things to watch. (warning though - I've heard multiple stories of cats that fell into baths. It was not a pretty sight (warm blood, soft skin, sharp claws on a panic'd cat. Not a good combo)

What Desert Museum? I went to one near Tuscon with my great aunt during my first trip out west. Was really cool. Well... not cool... was actually really fucking HOT.

DM: yep, that's the place. My great-aunt is a member. They were smart to go there in February (Instead of late June when I went). Does have lots of indoor exhibits which helped (Think it was close to 110 that day)

Cats: OUCH. So far we haven't had any major accidents - unintentional tail wettings and once his back leg slipped in, but he didn't panic. Today I got a nasty shoulder scratch - my fault though. He was standing on my shoulder and arm and I closed my eyes to really enjoy his purring and, clumsy me... I stumbled.
