Morning: coffee, conversation, cat-petting

Early afternoon: Farmers' market, buying fresh, organically grown veggies and bison steaks and lovely fresh bread and dairy

Late afternoon: Listening to Scott Joplin while trimming the moulding flash off little metal men and horses for Emily's Ancient British DBA army

Evening: Not sure yet :-)

I saw DC United play Chicago (OK, that part wasn't lovely) and had a nice visit and catch-up with the Globetrotter. I Skyped with the Antiquarian. I cleaned the catboxes, washed the dishes, and vacuumed the entire apartment (including the couch). I sent a list of games and books to nobleknightgames to get a quote for taking them off my hands. I spent a very nice afternoon wandering around the azalea-clad hillsides of the National Arboretum with shy_kat and redactrice hearing all about their wedding plans. :-) Now I'm going to have some tea and biscuits (Typhoo and Hobnobs, because I am a dyed-in-the-wool Anglophile) and do some home work. Later I will do some laundry, make dinner, and watch Treme. :-) My tax forms arrived at their destinations. My cats are all doing well (Phineas is almost his old self again after the shot the vet gave him the week before last--now he just has to grow his fur back :-).

There are still things I'm concerned about, questions I wish were answered, balls up in the air that I'd like on the ground, but all in all, this has been a very nice weekend and I'm feeling good. :-)

The Grrls are back tomorrow--yay! I'm takign the afternoon off to tidy up and then get them at the airport.

I had a very nice two days: I played games with Peter and Bryan and two of Peter's chums (it turns out one of them works in another part of my division at SAIC--too weird!) and had a swim in P's pool, then P and B and I watched The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. Really a wonderful retelling, just as affecting as when I first saw it in the theater with C. I got all teary at several points but I think I concealed it from my manly chums.

Then today B&P and I went to another chap's to play a Napoleonic miniatures game. Poor P had his usual horrible luck but managed to keep my third of the French army very effectively pinned down with a small force of Russians. Bryan very capably defended the French center with a load of Bavarians and was actually pushing the Russians back when the game ended. After that I came home and did massive amounts of rearranging and tidying which had no immediately visible effect but left things somewhat less cluttery IMO. It will soon be time to finish mondo cleaning and begin the great "eBay, used bookstore, and throwing things out" project.

I also bit the bullet and got a new colour printer. I tried several more times to ressurrect the not-very-old Canon and failed, so I got an HP printer/scanner/copier like the one Bryan loaned me with which I was very impressed. It will still be backup to the HP b&W laser, but this way I can replace both the Canon and the crappy scanner that almsot never worked with one device. And it wasn't so expensieve that I won't mind disposing of it for next to nothing in a year.

OK, past time for bed. Going to try to get back to my planned schedule this week. Rupoert has been languishing!
