One of the nicer things that's happened in the last year or so was my meeting my friend Eric. He's proved to be a really great addition to my small circle of gaming buddies, and we've become good friends as well as hobby chums. He's a good guy, sound on politics :-), intelligent, well read, has an entertainingly dry sense of humour and as voracious a wargaming appetite as mine. And, best of all, he lives not too far off, so we can get together on a weeknight, as we did this evening, have dinner, play a game, and have a jaw, all on a school night.

I miss my good friends who have moved away or dropped off the radar (

rockethokie plus numerous non-LJ ones), but I have been fortunate enough to pick up a few like Eric and our friend Phil, and to retain such invaluable local friends as
