Sharpe's Challenge

I saw some ads for this newest entry in the "Sharpe's..." TV series of series. It's set in India, a rewrite of some of Cornwell's Sharpe prequels. Looks as if it will be the usual sex, violence, battle, and "Sharpe defeats evil villians" story.

I was quite buffaloed by one thing, though. The title screens that they start and end the commercials with show mysterious foreign writing in dark brown on a burnt-orange background with broadcast infor lettered in white over it. But the mysterious writing is not Sanskrit that you would expect in a story set in India. No, it's...

Hebrew?!

Yes, it seems to read (from left to right) עאפוצם (mem-tsadi-vav-pe-alef-ayin). My Hebrew is rusty (and was never strong to begin with), so I can't really begin to guess what it means.

Odd, right? No, here's the *strange* part. It took me a minute or two of staring at the frozen frame to understand what I was seeing...

All the letters are BACKWARDS! It's "םצןפאע" but reversed, as if in a mirror. VERY weird...
