There's been some discussion of wikis on the UK editing list that I read, which caused one member to post the following wiki-ed joke.

Q: When is a candle-maker brought to justice?

A: When his wicked works come to light.

a question about relationships

I've had this discussion before with a few of you in person, but I can't recall posting the question here before. In any event, it came up the other day, and I was curious to know what other people say.

Some personals ads allow the user to specify whether they are interested in a 'long-term' or a 'short-term' relationship, and the two phrases are often used in general conversation.

But what do *you* take 'short-term' or 'long-term' to mean? Is it a relative thing? Or is it situational? And, if the latter, what situations does it vary on?
