The Bay City Rollers, yes, the actual Bay City Rollers are playing Jammin Java, a small coffeehouse nightclub near me next month. I may have to go. :-)

So are a group called "Enter the Haggis", whose description of themselves is that "The music is primarily a fusion of Celtic, bluegrass and rock, however, elements of Latin, blues and funk can be heard throughout." Sounds like Scottish gumbo! :-)

I don't generally post political appeals, but my politics are hardly a secret either. I may be preaching to the choir here, but please, visit The Commonwealth Coalition website, check out their ad against the upcoming Virginia ballot question, read the other information they have there, and consider contributing to their campaign.

Ballot question #1 is a wrong-headed, bigoted anti-gay measure that is so broadly drawn that it would hurt many non-gay Virginians. It would also enshrine divisiveness and hatred in our commonwealth's constitution, which has got to be an idea anathema to all decent Virginians.

(no subject)

Rupert and I were back on the trail this morning! We retraced our usual route, rode through the scene of the accident, and came home again. Six miles, one cardinal, the usual flock of mourning doves, three deer (twice--I'm going to start calling them The Breakfast Club, because I've seen three does in the same place on the trail in the morning several times now), a fox and a Siamese cat apparently having a staring-down contest (also regular attendees on one stretch of trail), a couple of dog-walkers, a couple of un-dog-walkers, two joggers, and some lovely scenic early-morning fog on the stream.

Now, shower, breakfast, work...
