Happy birthday, easy_living!

Another short bike jaunt this morning before it got too hot. I still think that John McCusker's music is what I love best when cycling. His "Air for Jakes" is perfect for wending one's way to the end of a ride through evening sunlight; to me, it says "coming home" powerfully. (If anyone ever has to do a memorial for me, play that.) But I was listening to Dougie MacLean's "Perthshire Amber", and I have to say that's wonderful cycling music too, especially for a quiet morning with lots of birds flitting and squirells scampering and quiet grassy yards with no more moise than maybe the swish of a watering hose.

Effing big tree branch just parted company with a tree down the slope from the house and collapsed to the ground. Large rending sound, followed by an impressive battering of lower branches as it headed downwards.

I'm hoping that's the only one of those nearby.
