I just got home.

I left work at 6.30.

Thank God for (a) my Matrix (it drove smoothly through ice and snow that was bogging down scores of other cars) and (b) the 24-disc recording of Alastair Horne's book about the Algerian revolution that I had in the car.

This is officially DC Snowpocalypse I for 2011.

Whew! An hour of snow shovelling will do you in! I don't feel bad about not jogging today.

It's the frustrated engineer in me, but I do love clearing out a section of gutter and seeing the meltwater from up the street come rushing down towards the drain!
